Diced
Tomatoes
(along with the liquid)
1/2
of a medium
Onion
, diced
2 tbsp
Tomato
Paste
3
Garlic
Cloves
, diced
1 tsp
Salt
1/4 tsp
Black
Pepper
Fresh
Basil
Leaves
, to taste, roughly chopped
1/4 tsp
Red
Pepper
Flakes
(optional)

Instructions
Chop the
onion
and mince the
garlic
.
Heat a pan with oil on medium high and sauté the
onion
until translucent.
Add in the
garlic
and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
Add in the canned
diced tomatoes
along with their liquid.
Add in the
salt
and
pepper
or any other additional
spices
that are being used.
Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer.
Let simmer for around 10 minutes, when it starts to thicken up and some of the juices have evaporated.
Serve any way you’d like- over pasta, on pizza and more!
