Ingredients
Scale
1pintHeavy Whipping Cream
1canSweet Condensed Milk
1/2cupDutch Process Cocoa PowderIt MUST be Dutch Process
1/2cupChocolate ChipsI like to use the mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Pour the heavy whipping cream into a large bowl. Using either an electric hand mixer or an immersion blender with the whisk attachment (this is what I use), whip the cream, starting on low speed working up to medium speed until stiff peaks form (see above pictures) or for about 2 minutes.
In a separate large bowl, mix the sweet condensed milk and the cocoa powder together.
Add about 1/2 cup – 1 cup of the whipped cream to the milk mixture and stir.
Slowly fold in the remaining amount of whipped cream to the milk mixture until fully incorporated.
Fold in the chocolate chips to the ice cream mixture.
Pour ice cream mixture into a bread pan and sprinkle chocolate chips on top.
Cover and place in freezer until fully frozen, about 7 hours.
When ready to eat let sit on counter at room temperature for 5-10 minutes. This allows the ice cream to be creamier and easier to scoop.
